PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. – The University of San Francisco women's triathlon team is set to open their 2021-22 season on Saturday, Sept. 4 at the Pleasant Prairie Regional Qualifier.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- Entering just their third year as a Division I program, the Dons competed in just one race last spring. Impressively, USF placed first and won the NCAA Division I race at the Draft Legal Challenge on Mar. 10, 2021.NCAA triathlon is scored like cross country, with four athletes placing as the score and the lowest score winning.
- Individually, Chloe Ramirez, Hayley Diemar, Maddie Perkins and Noga Gottlieb all competed for the Dons in the NCAA race last spring. Overall, Ramirez finished fourth (1:07.47), Diemer in tenth (1:08.33), Perkins in sixteenth (1:09.09) and Gottlieb in eighteenth (1:09.13). NCAA triathlon is scored like cross country with four athletes placing as the score and the lowest score winning.
- Saturday's race is set to begin at 6:30 a.m. PT with a 750-meter swim at Lake Andrea. Following the open-water segment, the Dons will then embark on a 20-kilometer draft-legal bike ride around the lake (four laps) before closing the race with a 5-kilometer run on a similar course. All NCAA triathlons feature this sprint distance.
- Looking ahead, the Dons will compete in seven more meets to round out their 2021-22 campaign, with their next official race scheduled as the Regional Qualifier on Saturday, Oct. 30 in Hurricane, Utah.
