SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference officially announced that
Yauhen Massalski has been named the WCC Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Piecing together a dominant campaign as one of the top big men in the conference,
Yauhen Massalski delivered two impressive performances for USF this past week as the graduate transfer finished with averages of 20.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 assists per game.
In Thursday's neutral site matchup against Loyola Chicago, Massalski dazzled with a team-high 20 points on a perfect 10-of-10 from the field while also adding 5 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 assists in an all-around effort. On Saturday, the 6-9 forward faced his former school for the first time when the Dons battled San Diego in their conference opener.
Guiding USF to a 15-point win over the Toreros, Massalski displayed his skillset once more with a 21-point, 17-rebound performance en route to his fourth double-double of the season.
Overall, Massalski currently leads the WCC in field goal percentage (63.7), offensive rebounds (55) and total rebounds (132) while also ranking second in blocks (35), made field goals (100) and rebounds per game (8.3).
