STOCKTON, Mo. – Following a successful opening weekend in Colorado a few weeks back, the University of San Francisco triathlon team will head east for the Western Regional National Qualifier in Stockton, Missouri this weekend as they continue their path towards the USA Triathlon National Championship.
The NCAA Division I race in this event will begin at 8:00 am PT/10:00 am CT.

- Last time out, USF finished third overall as a team at the Oktoberfest Sprint in Longmont, Colo. on Saturday, Sept. 24 before placing fourth overall at the Mile High Relays in Denver, Colo. on Sunday, Sept. 25. Notably, Kira Gupta Baltazar, last year's Individual National Champion, quickly returned to form with a second place finish as an individual at the Oktoberfest Sprint.
- In 2021, USF finished second overall at the St. George National Qualifier as Gupta Baltazar earned the individual title in that event as well. Impressively, Gillian Cridge (second) and Katherine Badham (ninth) also finished in the top ten individually for the Dons.
- Saturday's race is part of the Heartland Triathlon Cup and will feature three total races, including the PATCO Americas Elite Triathlon later in the day. The course at Stockton State Park features a one-lap swim of 750 meters off First Beach before the athletes move into a three-lap bike route that totals 12 miles (19.89 kilometers). The final leg will be a three-lap run to complete the nearly 5-kilometer stage (3.05 miles).
- This event will mark the first collegiate race for freshman Chloe Yoder while Juliette Janne Dothee will compete in her second race for the green and gold.
