SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The USF Dons men's and women's cross country programs are back to work as they're competing at Golden Gate Park's Speedway Meadow tomorrow afternoon for the 2022 SF State Invitational.Â
USF is back in action following last week's team performance at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational that saw the women's program finish in 11th place, while the men came in ninth place overall as a team. Ruby Smee and Baneet Bains led the way for the Dons' women's team as Smee finished in 30th place overall with a time of 16:42 in the 5,000 meter run, while Bains wasn't far behind with a 41st place finish at 16:52.1 that placed her just ten seconds behind Smee.
On the men's side, Ed Buck continued his tremendous debut season on the Hilltop as he finished third overall with a time of 24:01.5 in the five mile run at Notre Dame. Buck's tremendous individual performance earned himself the WCC's Male Runner of the Week award as he's finished in the top three twice in his first three events as a Don.Â
