USF Adds Neutral Site Battle Against New Mexico

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The University of San Francisco men's basketball team has added a nonconference match up to their upcoming schedule as the Dons will face off against New Mexico as part of the Jack Jones Hoopsfest in Las Vegas, Nev. on Dec. 12.

Hosted at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, the Dons will battle the Lobos at 8:30 pm PT as they will be the second game of a doubleheader that night following Arizona State vs. Creighton at 6:00 pm PT.

New Mexico, who remains as one of just fifteen undefeated teams left in Division I as of Dec. 1, had availability to add this game after cancellations of their home-and-home series with New Mexico State.

Tickets to the game are available here. The contest will air live on KNBR 1050 while TV or streaming coverage has not been determined yet.

UNM and USF haven't met since 1994-95 when the Dons defeated the Lobos 80-74 in Albuquerque in the Preseason NIT. Overall, the series is tied 2-2. Both teams were in the field of last year's Las Vegas Invitational at the Orleans Arena, but did not end up playing each other.

Looking ahead, the Dons will travel to Las Vegas twice that week as USF is set to compete at UNLV on Saturday, Dec. 17.

Further schedule adjustments or changes will be announced via usfdons.com.
