Men's Tennis Comes Up Short Against Pilots

PORTLAND, Ore. -- It wasn't the USF Dons men's tennis team's day (10-8, 2-2) as they fell to the Portland Pilots 4-0 on the road Sunday morning at the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center. 

Portland was able to claim the initial doubles point by winning both of the completed matches and then followed that up with three individual wins in singles play.

(USF) Mitch Johnson/Nil Giraldez vs. (POR) Penzlin/Ocana (6-5, DNF)

Singles:
(POR) Pankin def. (USF) Giraldez (6-0)
(POR) Neos def. (USF) Ricklis (6-3, 4-6, 6-1)

CATCHING UP WITH COACH SUNDLING:
"The Pilots were too tough today. They were controlling the flow of each match and the score reflects that. We look forward to playing BYU at home on Friday." 

UP NEXT:
USF now returns home and will be back on their home courts on Friday morning as they will face the BYU Cougars. Matches will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the California Tennis Club.
