SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Former University of San Francisco men's basketball player and two-time All-WCC First Team selection Frankie Ferrari has officially signed a Summer League contract with the Sacramento Kings.
Ferrari joins the Kings after spending parts of the 2022 season split between the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G League and Basket Zaragoza of the Spanish Liga ACB. Playing in 28 games for Santa Cruz, Ferrari averaged 5.5 PPG and 6.1 assists per game while playing an average of 22.8 minutes per game.
As a four-year letter winner with the Dons, Ferrari dazzled during his time on the Hilltop as he currently ranks in the top ten in assists (410, fourth), three-point field goals made (172, seventh) and three-point field goals attempted (447, eighth) while also ranking 34th all-time in scoring (1,053 points). Having played in a school record 39 games in 2017-18, Ferrari broke onto the scene his junior year when he became the program's starting point guard as he quickly grew into a knockdown shooter and an accomplished passer. Additionally, his shooting prowess is not something unfamiliar to Dons fans as his 81.7 percent career free-throw percentage also ranks fourth all-time while his 38.5 percent career three-point percentage is tied for ninth in program history.
Ferrari joins a Kings team that features new head coach Mike Brown, who recently won his fourth NBA Championship as an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors. Sacramento is coming off a 30-52 season as the franchise aims to end their 15-year playoff drought.
