HONOLULU, Hawaii – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team (1-4) dropped a 54-48 non-conference decision to Cal State Fullerton (2-2) Sunday afternoon in the final game of the Bank of Hawaii Classic at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco fell behind early as Cal State Fullerton pulled out to a double-digit lead, 13-2, at the 5:33 mark of the first quarter. The Titans' double-digit advantage remained throughout and led 19-8 at the end of the opening period.
- The Dons began to cut into the deficit early in the second quarter, using a 10-0 scoring run to trim the Titans' lead to one, 19-18, at the 2:43 mark. Cami Fulcher led the team during the scoring, scoring five of the Dons' 10 points to help propel the green and gold.
- The Titans, however, quickly responded and extended their lead to eight, 26-18 at the halftime break.
- Trailing by seven, 34-27, at the 3:10 mark of the third quarter, the Dons closed the quarter on a high note, using a 10-0 run to jump ahead by three, 37-34, with less than a minute left on the clock.
- The Titans pulled ahead in the final quarter of play and outscored the Dons, 18-11, to secure the victory.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Fulcher led San Francisco in scoring, recording 11 points and connecting on five of her 15 field-goal attempts.
- Aya Keita added a season-high nine points in 33 minutes off the bench.
- Jasmine Gayles and Luana Lite led the team in rebounding, collecting eight apiece.
UP NEXT:
San Francisco returns to action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, when it hosts Yale at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
