SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team (2-5) dropped a neutral-site contest to Colorado State (5-0) Sunday afternoon, falling 62-53, in the USF Legacy Game at Chase Center.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco began the game fast, knocking down three field goals to gain a six-point advantage, 11-5, with 4:14 on the clock in the first quarter. Four players scored for the Dons during the run, with Debora dos Santos posting four points, while Freja Werth, Mia Vukšic, and Cami Fulcher provided the team with offensive production.
- The Dons continued to hold the lead throughout the first quarter and held a 17-13 lead after the opening 10 minutes. Fending off the Rams' offensive attacks throughout, the Dons held them to 31.6 percent (six-for-19) shooting.
- In a back-and-forth second quarter, Colorado State scored five early points to take its first lead since the opening minutes of the game, 18-17. San Francisco bounced back, regained the lead, and pushed its advantage to five, 25-20, at the 3:27 mark of the second quarter, after dos Santos scored on a turnaround jumper in the paint.
- Trading baskets near the end of the second quarter, dos Santos closed out the period, scoring a layup with 48 seconds left to give the Dons a 27-23 halftime lead.
- The Rams came alive in the third quarter, outscoring the Dons 21-13 to push ahead by four. Luana Leite and Vukšic led the Dons offensively throughout the third, scoring four points apiece.
- Colorado State never relinquished the lead in the fourth quarter, pushing its advantage to 13, 59-46, after the midway point of the quarter. Failing to make a comeback, San Francisco cut the deficit to single digits, 62-53, on a last-second layup from Leite.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Posting her second straight double-double, dos Santos scored a team-high 14 points and matched her career-high in rebounds with 13. Dos Santos shot 54.5 percent (six-for-11) from the field and added one steal and one assist.
- Vukšic reached a season-high nine points during the contest, shooting three-for-eight from the field and connecting on one three-pointer.

San Francisco hits the road in its next contest, traveling to take on Washington at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 2 in a rematch of last season's WNIT first round at Alaska Airlines Arena.
