LA QUINTA, Calif. - Battling high winds and gusty conditions throughout the tournament, the University of San Francisco men's golf team impressed by finishing ninth overall at The Prestige in La Quinta this week. Overall, this performance marks USF's fifth top ten finish as a team this year.
Notably, the 24-team field consisted of eleven teams ranked in the top 50 of Golfstat's Division I team rankings.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
"What a grind it was out there. Unless you were there, you cannot understand the wind that we experienced. Our guys were incredible battling the conditions. It was a real team effort to get a top ten finish in such a deep and elite field. We will regroup and need to be even better in San Diego in a few weeks." - Jack Kennedy, USF head men's golf coach
UP NEXT:
Following a little more than a week off to regroup, USF will return to action at the Lamkins San Diego Classic on Mar. 6 + 7 at San Diego Country Club in San Diego. Live results for the tournament will be available via the team's schedule page.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
- Following their first round on day one, USF sat tenth overall as a team, which included Ben Partridge (E/71/T-27th) and Jakob Melin (+1/72/T-37th) each ranked inside the top 40 individually after the first 18 holes.
- Moving into the second day of competition, the winds picked up as the conditions became harsh for a handful of teams. Halting play to remain safe on Tuesday, round two began again at 6:30 am on Wednesday morning for the 12 teams who did not finish the day before, which included USF.
- After a 10:30 shotgun start to begin round three, Partridge continued to climb the leaderboard as the freshman went on to finish tied for 14th overall with a 1-over-214 (71, 69, 74). Overall, this result marks Partridge's fourth top 20 finish in seven tournaments this year.
- Improving with each round, Matthew Anderson finished tied for 21st overall with a 4-over-217 (73, 70, 74). Playing in every tournament so far this year for the Dons, this result marks Anderson's fifth finish in the top 25 individually.
- Rounding out the rest of the lineup, Melin tied for 73rd overall with a 14-over-227 (72, 76, 79), Renato Nauala tied for 79th with a 15-over-228 (74, 71, 83) and Jackson Rothwell tied for 91st with a 18-over-231 (77, 79, 75).
