Bouyea Signs 10-Day Contract with Washington Wizards

WASHINGTON - Former University of San Francisco all-conference guard Jamaree Bouyea has officially signed a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium announced on Thursday evening. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This season, Bouyea has appeared in 18 games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Miami's G League affiliate, where he averaged 18.9 points, 6.0 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals on 52.4 percent shooting. Back on Feb. 8, the Seaside native signed a 10-day contract with Miami as he appeared in four games for the Heat, where he averaged 3.8 points, 1.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals on 46.2 percent shooting.

After going undrafted last summer, Bouyea signed an Exhibit 10 deal to compete for the Heat in the NBA's Summer League. During the NBA's preseason slate, Bouyea appeared in four games with Miami and averaged 8.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 17.2 minutes. He was waived just before the start of the season, where he then agreed to stay with the organization and play for the Skyforce.

Capping off his career on the Hilltop with an exclamation point, Bouyea guided the Dons to a 24-8 regular season record in 2021-22 and USF's first NCAA Tournament berth since 1997-98. At the conclusion of the season, he was named First Team All-WCC for the second year in a row while also being selected to the NABC District 9 First Team. Notably, Bouyea was also honored by being selected as a finalist for the Lou Henson Award, which honors the nation's top student-athlete at the mid major level.

After his five years in the green and gold, Bouyea left USF as one of the most accomplished athletes in program history as he is the program's all-time wins leader (98 wins) alongside being first all-time in games played (160). Overall, he also ranks in the top six in program history in assists (422, third), steals (208, fourth), three-pointers attempted (531, fourth), field goals made (657, fifth), total points (1,718, fifth) and three-pointers made (179, sixth).
