SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference officially announced their annual preseason poll and All-WCC Preseason team for men's soccer on Tuesday afternoon.
For San Francisco,
Max Hamelink was selected to the 2023 All-WCC Men's Soccer Preseason Team after a stellar campaign in 2022.
Hitting the ground running upon his arrival on the Hilltop last fall, Hamelink was named to the All-WCC Second Team as he tied for second in the conference with seven goals while also tying for third with 16 points. Additionally, his two game-winning goals ranked tied for third in the WCC while his 30 total shots placed him thirteenth overall. For San Francisco, Hamelink's seven goals, 16 points and two game-winning goals all led the team while his 30 shots ranked second behind only
Dominic Valdivia (39).
Looking ahead, San Francisco is set to begin their regular season this Thursday, Aug. 24 when they welcome Utah Tech to Negoesco Stadium for a 7:00 pm matchup.
Fans can catch WCC men's soccer action this season on ESPN+ as the conference announced its expanded relationship with the network last week.
