IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- Getting things start for the Dons, Gabby Rizzo fired the first shot for either team at the 6:36, but she missed wide right of the net in her first attempt of the afternoon.
- Following another shot from Allison Kamansky in the 20th minute, UC Davis netted the opening goal of the match when Sarah Caravan scored in the 31st minute to make it 1-0 Aggies.
- As the half continued, Alex Carpio and Lily Loughney would each record shots of their own for San Francisco, but UC Davis maintained their 1-0 advantage heading into the halftime break.
- Coming out of the locker room, UC Davis added to their score as Elise Picard scored on an assist from Bella Mayo in the 49th minute to give the Aggies a 2-0 lead.
- Fighting back with each possession, the Dons cut their deficit in half when Cade Mendoza rocketed her first collegiate goal past the keeper in the 78th minute as San Francisco was within one, 2-1.
- Shortly thereafter, UC Davis countered with another goal in the 79th minute, this time off the foot of Risa Yamada, to make it 3-1 Aggies.
- Unfortunately, this cushion would hold as UC Davis kept the Dons off the board down the stretch to secure their third victory of the season by. a final score of 3-1.
- Starting in all three games so far this season, Mendoza found paydirt for the first time as a Don against the Aggies. Notably, she appeared in 17 games last year, but made only one started during her freshman campaign.
- Additionally, graduate student Alexia Estrada made her debut in the green and gold on Sunday as she played the full 90 minutes while making one save.
- Despite the loss, San Francisco led UC Davis in shots (13-12) and shots on goal (7-4).
