Men's Basketball Releases Full 2023-24 Schedule

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Francisco men's basketball program and head coach Chris Gerlufsen officially announced the team's full schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season on Tuesday afternoon.

"I'm excited to announce our full schedule for the 2023-2024 basketball season," said Gerlufsen. "Our schedule is full of quality opponents that will serve as great preparation for WCC play. We're looking forward to packing the stands at War Memorial!"

Having tallied at least 20+ wins each year since 2016-17 (excluding the COVID shortened season in 2020-21), the Dons are hungry to get back to the NCAA Tournament after a successful season in 2022-23 that saw the green and gold compile a 20-14 overall record. Impressively, USF won their opening round game in the WCC Tournament for the fourth straight season last year as the green and gold downed Pacific to advance to the quarterfinal round. Shortly thereafter, San Francisco defeated Santa Clara in double overtime to advance to the semifinal round of the conference tournament for the second straight year.

This season, San Francisco's nonconference schedule is highlighted by eight home games, including another battle with Northern California foe Fresno State. Additionally, the Dons will return to Chase Center for the fourth time in the last five seasons as the green and gold will take on Minnesota on Sunday, Nov. 26 in a neutral site matchup.

Notably, San Francisco will also compete in the Arizona Tip-Off tournament as the Dons will square off against Grand Canyon on Friday, Nov. 17 at Desert Diamond Arena in Phoenix, Ariz. Depending on the outcome of this matchup, San Francisco will face the winner or loser of South Carolina/DePaul on Sunday, Nov. 19. All tournament games will be broadcasted by CBS Sports Network. Tip-off times for all games will be announced at a later date.

Beginning a few days after the new year, San Francisco will begin their 16-game conference slate on Jan. 4 when they head east to Stockton for a battle at Pacific. Notably, the Dons will wrap up WCC action with two crucial games – home vs. Gonzaga on Feb. 29 and away at Santa Clara on Mar. 2.

Overall, San Francisco will return eight letterwinners from last year's team in addition to a new wave of talent. Notably, former top 100 recruits Mike Sharavjamts and Malik Thomas joined the mix along with versatile Chinese forward Junjie "Barry" Wang and local phenom Ryan Beasley. Entering his second year at the helm of the Dons, Gerlufsen added five Division I transfers and two incoming freshmen this offseason.

Notably, San Francisco's matchup at Saint Mary's on Feb. 20 will air live on ESPN. Tip-off times and additional television partners for the 2023-24 season will be announced at a later date.

Season tickets for San Francisco men's basketball are available via the San Francisco Athletics box office at usftickets@usfca.edu or (415) 422-2873. Single game tickets will be available soon.
