SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference announced on Monday morning that
Jonathan Mogbohas been named the WCC Player of the Week for men's basketball.
Developing into one of the most dynamic big men in the country, Mogbo put together arguably his most impressive performance as a Don this week as the forward lifted San Francisco to a 92-88 overtime win at Pacific to open West Coast Conference play on Thursday, Jan. 4.
Against the Tigers, the Missouri State transfer played a career-high 39 minutes while finishing with a career-high 30 points to go along with 18 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. Additionally, he went 10-for-10 at the free throw line, four of which came in the overtime period. Overall, this performance also marked his seventh double-double of the season.
Looking at the numbers, Mogbo currently leads the WCC in rebounding with an average of 10.6 rebounds per game while also sitting seventh in the conference in scoring with an average of 14.8 points per game. Nationally, Mogbo is second in the country in field goal percentage (67.55) and fifth in total rebounds (169) as of Sunday, Jan. 7.
Notably, this marks the third weekly WCC honor by a Don this season as
Ryan Beasley was previously tabbed WCC Freshman of the Week on Nov. 27 and
Malik Thomas was named WCC Player of the Week on Dec. 26.
