Cross Country Set to Particpate in Two Meets this Weekend

BETHLEHEM, Pa./SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The University of San Francisco cross country team is set to participate in two meets on Saturday, Oct. 5, traveling to compete in the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh and The Master's Invitational, hosted by Master's University.

DONS AT A GLANCE:
- San Francisco is coming off a solid performance at the Pacific Collegiate Invitational on Friday, Sept. 20, highlighted by the women's program taking third place out of nine teams.
- In her first 6000 meters of the season, Katharina Goetschl led the Dons by placing third individually out of 105 runners with a time of 21:33.7. Nearly breaking her career-best in the event, Goetschl was 13.2 seconds off her best set at the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships in 2023 while competing at Academy of Art.
- Petra Helebrantová posted a top-15 finish as she grabbed 13th, with a time of 22:26.1 in her first-ever 6000-meter event.
- The top finisher for green and gold on the men's side was Isaac Hartman, placing 34th overall in the 8000-meter race, posting a time of 26:44.8.
- San Francisco's trek to the East Coast marks the first time in program history the Dons will compete in the Paul Short Run. The meet will consist of multiple high-end programs, highlighted by Penn State, Pittsburgh, and nationally ranked Syracuse.
