FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Competing in the 800 meters, Olivia Alexandre advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA West Qualifiers Thursday afternoon at John McDonnell Field.

In a field of 47 competitors, Alexandre shined as she earned a 25th-place finish with a time of 2:07.50. Finishing third in her heat, Alexandre came up just over three seconds short of breaking her personal best of 2:04.17 set at the Bryan Clay Invitational earlier this season. 

Notably, Alexandre advances to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championships for the first time in her career.

Natalie Hlusi also competed on Thursday during the second day of the meet, taking 44th place at 4:33.25 in the 1500 meters. 

On the men's side, Ed Buck and Jacob Cann concluded their collegiate careers as the duo competed on Wednesday in their respective events. Buck, participating in the 10,000 meters, finished in 41st place with a time of 30:44.53, while Cann earned a 32nd-place finish in the 1500 meters at 3:44.45.
