LODI, Calif. – Highlighted by
Katharina Goetschl third-place finish, the University of San Francisco cross country programs competed in the Pacific Collegiate Invitational on Friday, Sept. 20, at Mike Grove Golf Course with the women earning third place and the men finishing fifth.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- In her first 6000 meters, Goetschl led the Dons by placing third individually out of 105 runners with a time of 21:33.7. Nearly breaking her career-best in the event, Goetschl was 13.2 seconds off her best set at the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships in 2023 while competing at Academy of Art.
- In her first-ever 6000 meters, Petra Helebrantová also helped guide the women as she posted a time of 22:26.1 and finished in 13th place.
- The top finisher for green and gold on the men's side was Isaac Hartman, placing 34th overall in the 8000-meter race, posting a time of 26:44.8.
- San Francisco showed a strong performance in its second meet of the season, earning third and fifth place overall, improving from finishing sixth place in the USF Invitational three weeks ago.

San Francisco continues the 2024 season when it competes in the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Goodman Campus Cross.
