SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -The University of San Francisco (USF) men's basketball team (3-1) continues its winning ways at home on the Hilltop on Saturday night as the Dons took down Bradley (1-3), 75-64, at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
USF had two players score in double figures, led by Ryan Beasley, who had 23 points, five assists, and two steals in a game-high 35 minutes. David Fuchs logged his first double-double as a Don, recording 17 points and 12 rebounds off the bench, while Tyrone Riley IV added seven points and seven rebounds.
San Francisco pulled down 46 rebounds compared to Bradley's 25, led by Fuchs' 12 boards. The Dons also cleaned up the offensive glass, turning 13 rebounds into six second-chance points. USF's defense held Bradley shooters to just 31.7 percent from the field, including 23.5 percent from three-point range.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- After falling behind 11-7, San Francisco went on a 5-0 run with 15:36 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Beasley, to take a 12-11 lead. The Dons then surrendered that lead and entered halftime down 37-36.
- After intermission, San Francisco managed to gain control and had a 59-58 lead before going on an 8-0 run, finished off by Beasley's jumper, to grow the lead to 67-58 with 3:13 to go in the contest. The Dons kept expanding the margin and coasted the rest of the way for the 75-64 win. San Francisco got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 20 of its 39 total points.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Fuchs notched his first double-double in the green and gold with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
- Beasley led the Dons in the scoring column with a game-high 23 points.
- USF shot well from three-point range, knocking down nine of 20 long range attempts (45.0 percent).
- The Dons held the Braves to only 31.7 percent (19-60 FG)Â shooting from the field.
- San Francisco's bench came alive by scoring 33 points in the contest.
- USF had a 46-25 edge on the boards in the win, including a game-high 12 rebounds from Fuchs.
