SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Highlighted by a season-high 65 points off the bench, the University of San Francisco women's basketball team (5-2) earned an impressive 92-52 victory over CSU Monterey Bay (2-1) Sunday afternoon at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.

Four players scored in double figures for San Francisco, led by Meghan McIntyre, who had 16 points and seven assists. Candy Edokpaigbe added 14 points while Sol Castro chipped in with 13 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks off the bench.

For the second straight game, Castro led the team in rebounds with seven as the Dons won the rebounding battle, outrebounding the Otters 43-23. The green and gold also tallied 12 offensive boards, the sixth time the team has recorded double-digit offensive rebounds in the last seven games, leading to nine second-chance points.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- After falling behind 13-12, San Francisco began a 10-0 scoring run with 1:42 left in the first quarter, to take a 22-13 lead. McIntyre scored seven of the team's 10 points throughout the run, highlighted by a three-point basket from the corner with 56 seconds remaining. Relying on their three-point shooting in the opening period, the Dons knocked down three of their nine shots from distance.
- Holding onto its first-quarter advantage, San Francisco kick-started the second quarter with an 11-2 scoring run to expand the margin to double-digits, 33-15, at 5:13. Following an Otter layup to trim the lead to 16, the Dons scored 13 straight points to gain a 26-point advantage, 43-17, with 1:46 remaining. The green and gold continued to score in the final minute and led 50-19 heading into the halftime break.
- San Francisco added to its lead in the third quarter, outscoring CSU Monterey Bay, 29-11, to take a commanding 79-30 advantage heading into the final period. Nine players scored throughout the 10 minutes for the green and gold, led by Candy Edokpaigbe, who scored seven points and shot a perfect three-for-three from the field.
- The Dons then held on for the 92-52 victory in the fourth quarter, taking advantage of opportunities in the paint, scoring nine of their 13 points at the basket.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- As a team, San Francisco shot well from three-point range, knocking down eight of its 17 attempts from distance. The Dons also added a season-best 65 points off the bench, with three players scoring in double figures.
- On the defensive end, the green and gold held CSU Monterey Bay to 29.3 percent shooting, the second time the team has held an opponent to under 30 percent from the field.
- McIntyre, Castro, and Nevaeh Ferrara Horne came off the bench to score 16, 13, and 11 points, respectively.
- Edokpaigbe continued her strong start to the season, finishing the game with 14 points while shooting 66.7 percent (six-of-nine) from the field in 14 minutes.
- McIntyre also tied her career-high in assists with seven, matching her total from the win over UNC Greensboro in the season opener on November 5.
