Women's Basketball Signs Freshman Forward Noelia Mouriño Freiria

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team and Head Coach Molly Goodenabour have announced the signing of Noelia Mouriño Freiria for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
"Noelia is an excellent addition to our team," Goodenbour said. "She has been with one of the best developmental schools in Spain and has received excellent training and coaching. She is a tough defender and rebounder, makes great hustle plays, and has tremendous potential."
Entering her first Division I collegiate season, Mouriño Freiria comes to the Hilltop after spending time with Segle XXI Barcelona of Liga Femenina 2 and the Spanish national team. In the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, she helped guide Segle XXI to back-to-back conference titles, highlighted by a league-best 22-3 record in 2024-25.
Last season with Segle XXI, Mouriño Freiria ranked fifth on the team in scoring at 6.8 points per game while shooting 52.1 percent from the field. Her 7.2 rebounds per game was second-best on the team, and she grabbed a season-high 12 boards three times. In the final game of the 2024-25 regular season, she led the team with 13 points and six rebounds in a 72-66 win over Sevilla on April 12.
The O Porriño, Galicia, Spain native competed for her national team at the FIBA U17 World Cup in Mexico from July 13 – 21, 2024. Mouriño Freira was part of a program that earned the bronze medal, fending off France 47-39 in the third-place game in Leon. Mouriño Freiria averaged 2.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game throughout the tournament. Active on the glass, she posted five or more rebounds in five of the seven games, including 11 in 18 minutes against Finland in the Group Phase on July 14, 2024.
