SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Candy Edokpaigbe, a sophomore transfer guard, has officially signed with the University of San Francisco women's basketball team and Head Coach
Molly Goodenbour for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
"Candy is an exciting addition to our roster," Goodenbour said. "She has exceptional athleticism and uses assertive play to draw fouls and reach the free-throw line at a high rate. She also brings tenacious on-ball defense and will be a solid rebounder."
Coming to the Hilltop after spending her freshman season at Seattle U, Edokpaigbe led the Redhawks, averaging 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per contest while shooting 51.9 percent from the field in 30 games in 2024-25.
Reaching double-figure scoring 18 times while surpassing the 20-point threshold twice, Edokpaigbe posted a season-high 21 points against Tarleton State on February 15. She also registered two double-doubles, highlighted by a 13-point, 10-rebound performance in a 69-65 victory over Utah Tech on March 8. She finished the regular season ranked 16th in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in scoring, was the program's lone double-digit scorer, and was named to the All-WAC Freshman Team.
The Naples, Italy native, a threat on the defensive end, ranked 18th in the WAC in steals, accumulating 1.8 per game while securing 80 defensive rebounds, tied for the third on the team, and 20th in the conference.
Before her time in the Pacific Northwest, Edokpaigbe competed on three club teams overseas, most recently with Faenza Basket Project in 2023-24. She competed with Pallacanestro Vigarano from 2022-23 and Sorriso Azzurro Cercola Basket from 2018-22. While with Faenza Basket Project, she appeared in 19 games and averaged 3.1 points and 1.1 rebounds in 10.7 minutes per game off the bench.
