Dons Add Sharpshooting Guard Vukasin Masic

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Head coach Chris Gerlufsen and the University of San Francisco men's basketball program announced today the signing of guard Vukasin Masic (Belgrade, Serbia/Portland).

"Our program is very pleased to announce that Vukasin will be joining the Dons for the 2025-26 campaign," said Gerlufsen. "Vukasin is a strong, versatile guard with great shooting touch and a high basketball IQ. In two years in the West Coast Conference, he averaged double figures both seasons and shot a cumulative 38 percent from three. We are excited that Vukasin is making War Memorial at the Sobrato Center home for his final year of college basketball!"

Originally from Belgrade, Serbia, Masic spent the past three seasons at the University of Portland, but he did not suit up in 2022-23.

This past season, Masic started in 15 of his 27 appearances for Portland as he averaged 10.6 points, 3.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds on 41.7 percent shooting from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond-the-arc and 78.7 from the free throw line. Closing out the season on a high note, Masic scored a season-high 26 points on 9-of-18 from the field and 7-of-10 from distance in Portland's opening round matchup against Pepperdine in the WCC Championship.

In his first year taking the hardwood for the Pilots in 2023-24, Masic started in all 33 games as the guard averaged 12.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game on 47.6 shooting from the field, 40.3 percent from three-point range and 76.7 percent from the charity stripe. Notably, Masic scored a career-high 32 points in Portland's 83-72 win at North Dakota on Dec. 9, 2023.

Prior to his time in Portland, Masic spent one year at Maine in 2021-22, where he started in 25 of his 28 appearances. For the Black Bears, Masic averaged 9.3 points per game along with 4.1 rebounds per game.

Masic began his collegiate career by playing 20 games at Hofstra in 2020-21, which included three starts. Overall, he averaged 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds during his time as a Lion.

Masic joins Mookie Cook and David Fuchs as the third member of San Francisco's 2025-26 recruiting class.
