Women's Basketball Adds Olivia Williams for 2025-26 Season

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team and Head Coach Molly Goodenbour have announced the signing of Bay Area native Olivia Williams for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

"We are excited to welcome Olivia to the Hilltop," Goodenbour said. "Her experience competing at Archbishop Mitty High School on one of the top high school programs in the country, and then on multiple successful UC Irvine squads, will be incredibly valuable as we build our roster for next season."

Williams, a senior transfer guard, joins the program on the Hilltop after spending four years at UC Irvine, where she averaged 6.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game and totaled 66 assists and 26 blocks in 79 total games.

Breaking out in her final season with the Anteaters and guiding the program to its fourth straight 20-win season, Williams appeared and started in all 31 games in 2024-25. She ranked fourth on the team in scoring at 7.4 points per game and shot a career-best 34.6 percent from the three-point line while leading the team in three-pointers with 39. She also totaled 10 double-digit scoring performances, including a career-high 18 points at New Mexico on November 27, 2024.

Defensively, she helped direct a program that was one of the top defensive teams in the nation, as UC Irvine ranked fifth in field goal percentage defense (35.4 percent) and 10th in scoring defense (54.3 PPG). Williams was one of the best defensive guards for the Anteaters last season, ranking fifth in steals (20) and third in blocks (12).

Entering her first collegiate season on a high note, Williams scored a season-best 13 points in her debut against Westcliff on November 9, 2021, tallied 10 points in her first-ever Big West contest on January 6, 2022, and went seven-for-13 from beyond the three-point line in her first five outings. She finished the 2021-22 campaign, averaging 4.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 30 games, and was named to the Big West All-Freshman Team.

Williams shined as a high school player, leading Archbishop Mitty High School to four league championships and three CIF Central Coast Section titles. She was named to the 2021 Bay Area News Group's Fab 25 and the SF Chronicle All-Star Team and was tabbed the 2020 Prep2Prep Central Coast Section Junior of the Year after averaging 12.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

A New Zealand U17 National Team member, Williams won the silver medal at the 2019 FIBA Women's Oceania Championship while averaging 9.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game in five contests throughout the tournament.
