SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco volleyball team (2-7) dropped the second match of the USF Challenge, falling 3-1 to CSUN (6-4) Thursday evening at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- CSUN jumped out to an early lead in the first set, winning six of the first eight points for a 6-2 advantage.
- San Francisco quickly responded, recording seven straight points, to gain its first set lead at 9-6. Emilija Arsic paced the Dons throughout the scoring run, totaling two kills, while Jamie Low added a service ace. Â
- With the frame tied at 21, the green and gold registered four of the final six points, capped off with an Astrid Puig solo block to earn the 25-23 first-set victory.
- CSUN responded with wins in back-to-back sets, taking the second set, 25-13, and the third at 25-16.
- In the deciding fourth frame, the Matadors powered to a 16-7 advantage midway through. Despite a late push by the Dons, getting to within four, 20-16, the Matadors won the last four points to earn the 25-17 victory.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Puig led the program offensively with eight kills while Hannah Taylor added seven.
- Andrea Fabikovicová totaled a team-high 27 assists throughout the match.
- Hokulani Perez led the front line defensively as she recorded six blocks, increasing her team-leading season total to 37.0.Â

San Francisco concludes its nonconference slate at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, when it hosts San Jose State in the final match of the USF Challenge at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center.
