STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team (15-11, 8-7) dropped a 73-51 decision at Pacific (11-15, 6-9) Thursday evening at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco struggled out of the gate, falling behind 24-10 at the end of the first quarter.
- The Dons continued to lose ground in the second quarter as the Tigers pushed their advantage to 40-22 at the halftime break.
- San Francisco's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Dons faced a 59-37 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Despite trailing after 30 minutes of play, the green and gold performed well near the basket, scoring eight of its 15 points in the paint.
- San Francisco failed to pull any closer in the fourth, eventually falling 73-51. The Dons got a boost from their bench in the period, with non-starters scoring all 14 of the total points.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Nataša Taušová led San Francisco in scoring, recording 15 points in 17 minutes. Along with her scoring, Taušová added one rebound and three steals before fouling out in the third quarter.
- Candy Edokpaigbe also scored in double figures, recording 11 points on 57.1 percent (four-of-seven) shooting.
- Sophia Priestley and Amy Pateman gave the green and gold valuable minutes off the bench, combining for nine points, with Priestley knocking down five of her six attempts from the free throw line.
NEXT UP:
San Francisco returns to action when it travels to the East Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, to face off against Saint Mary's for the second time this season at the University Credit Union Pavilion.
