SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco women's basketball team and Head Coach Molly Goodenbour have announced the addition of transfer guard Ines Babaya for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
"Ines is a very athletic wing from France," Goodenbour said. "She has high-level JUCO experience playing for one of the premier community college programs in the country. She is an outstanding defender, works very hard on both ends of the court, and is not afraid to do the dirty work that helps win games."
Babaya, a native of Tours, Frances, joins the green and gold on the Hilltop following two seasons at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). During her time at SLCC, Babaya averaged 7.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.
In a breakout 2025-26 campaign, Babaya averaged double-digit points at 10.0 per game, third most on the team, while shooting 44.6 percent from the field. In her final season with the program, she helped guide the Bruins to a 22-10 overall record, a third-place finish in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) standings at 10-5, and an appearance in a second straight Region 18 Tournament Final.
In her first season at SLCC in 2024-25, Babaya totaled 4.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game in 26 games played with nine starts. Saving her best for last, Babaya scored a season-high 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds in an upset victory over College of Southern Idaho in the conference semifinals. She followed with five points, three rebounds, and four assists as the Bruins earned their fifth Region 18 Tournament title in program history with a narrow 67-63 win over Snow College.
