Men's Basketball Signs Guard Jaylen Hunter-Coleman

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Head coach Chris Gerlufsen and the University of San Francisco (USF) men's basketball program announced today the signing of guard Jaylen Hunter-Coleman (Boston, Mass.).
"Our staff is thrilled to welcome Jaylen Hunter-Coleman to the University of San Francisco," said Gerlufsen.
"Jaylen is a dynamic, hard-nosed East Coast guard who impacts winning at a high level. He possesses a great ability to create for himself and others. We look forward to helping him reach his potential in his time here at USF!"
Hunter-Coleman began his high school journey at Charlestown High School in Boston, where he helped the school win its first Boston City League Championship in 14 years in 2024. In the championship game against Burke High School, he scored 22 points, including 21 in the second half, as Charlestown came back to win 72-56. His father, Hugh Coleman, was Charlestown's head coach and had been a standout point guard at Charlestown himself.
In 2024, The Boston Globe reported that Hunter-Coleman received the Jason Murray Character Award for leadership and dedication. He was also ranked as the No. 9 prospect in Massachusetts in his class according to National Elite Prep School Basketball.
On the amateur circuit, Hunter-Coleman played for Expressions Elite in Massachusetts. Originally, he was a prospect in the class of 2027, but he recently reclassified into the class of 2026.
Hunter-Coleman chose USF over Ball State, Fairfield, Robert Morris, Boston U, Towson, Gardner-Webb, Hofstra, and Holy Cross.
