Men's Basketball Adds Ryan Boatright to Coaching Staff

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Head Coach Chris Gerlufsen and the University of San Francisco men's basketball program announced that Ryan Boatright has been hired as Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development.
"We are very excited to welcome Ryan Boatright to our basketball family here at USF," said Gerlufsen. "Ryan had an illustrious career as a player, dating back to winning a national championship at UConn in 2014. After a strong professional career, I'm thrilled to have Ryan bring his experience and wealth of knowledge to our program and players. I know Ryan is eager to start building relationships here on the Hilltop."
Boatright joins the program on the Hilltop at the conclusion of a successful playing career, which spanned 11 seasons and took him to many of the best leagues domestically and abroad. He spent time in the NBA G League with stops on the Grand Rapids Drive, Agua Caliente Clippers, and Texas Legends. Additionally, he played in the NBA Summer League with the Brooklyn Nets. On an international level, Boatright played overseas in several countries, including Spain, France, Lithuania, and Türkiye.
Prior to playing professional basketball, Boatright was a standout player at the University of Connecticut, winning a national championship in 2014. He was named to the All-Final Four team for his contributions to the team's title run. As a senior in 2014-15, Boatright averaged 17.4 points and 3.8 assists and was named a finalist for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award.
