
Lukrofka Delivers in Shutout Win

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The University of San Francisco (3-3-1) women's soccer team secured its second straight shutout victory on Thursday evening as Olivia Lukrofka scored the game-winning goal in the second half to lift the Dons past Idaho, 1-0, at Negoesco Stadium.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- San Francisco and Idaho battled through a scoreless opening 45 minutes as both sides searched for the opening goal.
- Idaho generated multiple opportunities midway through the first half, but Grace Wilson kept the Vandals off the board with back-to-back saves in the 26th and 28th minutes.Â
- Head coach Alexis Mata made three changes coming out of halftime, bringing Lukrofka, Shanti Ng and Jimena Perez Ayala into the match to begin the second half.Â
- The Dons began creating opportunities early in the second period as Hannah Burns put an attempt on frame in the 51st minute.Â
- San Francisco broke through at 55:53 when Lukrofka fired a left-footed strike into the top-left corner to give the Dons the 1-0 advantage.Â
- Idaho continued to search for the equalizer down the stretch, but Wilson and the San Francisco defense stood firm, with Wilson making her final save of the night in the 88th minute to preserve the clean sheet.Â
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Lukrofka recorded her second goal of the season and first game-winning goal, scoring less than 11 minutes after entering the match at halftime.
- Through six appearances, Lukrofka has totaled two goals and four points while placing all three of her shots on goal.
- Wilson finished with five saves while recording the clean sheet in goal for San Francisco.
- Sydni Yoshida continues to lead the Dons with six points this season, totaling one goal and four assists through seven matches.
- Burns leads San Francisco with 22 total shots and 10 shots on goal through seven matches.
- The Dons held Idaho scoreless despite the Vandals recording 17 total shots.
- With the victory, San Francisco improved to 3-3-1 overall and recorded its second consecutive shutout.
