2011 WEST COAST CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
2011-2012 SEASON: Went 7-15 in singles play and 6-12 in doubles play.
SINGLES: First win of the season came against Nevada’s Phillip Hinojosa (6-2, 6-1) (2/2/12)… registered three consecutive wins against No. 65 SDSU, No. 37 Fresno State and UC Davis (2/18-3/4/12).
DOUBLES: Posted consecutive wins to begin season against Nevada (8-4) and Pacific (8-3) (2/2-2/4/12)… won final match of season with Jacob Hartwig against LMU (9-8) over Todd Volmari and Felix Van Kann (4/25/12).
AT USF 2010-11:
SINGLES: Posted 16-14 record in singles play as sophomore… strung together four-match win streak from 3/15/11 to 4/1/11 against University of Northern Colorado, University of Idaho, No. 42 Boise State University, and Gonzaga University… won 7-6, 4-1 against Walker Kehrer of No. 10 Stanford University in Battle in the Bay Classic (10/2/10)… went 3-1 in the No. 2 spot.
DOUBLES: Won second doubles match of season 8-4 with Mark DeCastro, defeating Kyle Koetje and Luis Altimires of Eastern Washington University in Round of 64 of 2010 USTA/ITA DI Northwest Regional Championships (10/15/10)… won five matches in a row from 2/6/11 to 2/19/11 including a 9-8 triumph over No. 38 Brigham Young University from the No. 2 spot… finished season on four-match win streak including a victory over Ryan Thacher and Ted Kelly of No. 10 Stanford University, 8-2 (4/18/11).
AT USF 2009-10:
SINGLES: Posted 2-4 record in dual matches in the No. 2 (1-0), No. 3 (1-1), and No. 4 (0-3) spots… won first match of season 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 against Patrick Bandy of Xavier University (3/4/10). DOUBLES: Went 2-5 in doubles play in freshman year… posted two-match winning streak from 3/18/10 to 3/21/10 against No. 73 UAB and No. 40 Sonoma State University.
PERSONAL: Parents are Tamara Sarhan and Miguel Bucalem...brother, William...prior to USF, participated in may professional qualifying tournaments..won the wild card tournament to receive a doubles main draw into the Belohorizonte doubles main draw with partner #150 Ricardo Hocevar.
