2018 Track & Field: Competed at five meets in the 800 meters, 3,000 meters and 1,500 meters…made her collegiate debut alongside her sister, Valerie, in the 3,000 meters at the UW Preview (Jan. 13), posting a time of 11:26.16…posted her seasonal best in the 1,500 meters at the Brutus Hamilton (Apr. 27) with a time of 4:57.17…in her lone race in the 800 meters she ran the event in a time of 2:28.79.
2017 Cross Country: Competed in two races during the 2017 season...competed in her first collegiate race at the USF Invitational, she finished in 43rd with a time of 24:55.6...she also competed in the Capital Cross Challenge, finishing 114th with a time of 23:20.7.
High School: Ran two years of track and one season of cross country at Channel Islands HS … Raiders won the Pacific View League championships in 2015 and ’16 and the team earned the Ventura County cross country championship in 2016 … raced distances on the track ranging from 400 meters to 3,200 meters … twice named best distance runner for her track and field team … also played two seasons of soccer, earning best defensive player as a junior.
Personal: Planning to study political science at USF … daughter of Raul and Arcelia Almanza … has two siblings, older brother Raul, Jr., and twin sister and fellow USF athlete Valerie … born Jan 15, 1999, in Oxnard, Calif.
