Chris Manuele joined the University of San Francisco Cross Country and Track family for his first season as an assistant coach with the Dons in the 2019-20 season.

Manuele spent 2018-19 as an assistant track and field coach at Boise State University, and the previous three in the same capacity at Southern Oregon University.

At Boise State, he coached 21 All-Mountain West Conference student-athletes in sprints, hurdles, and jumps and three NCAA West Region Preliminary Meet qualifiers in sprints, hurdles and pole vault.

During his time at Southern Oregon University, he coached student-athletes to nine school records (six of which were sprints) and a Cascade Conference record in the men’s 100-meter dash and the long jump. He also coached 21 individual Cascade Collegiate Conference champions, 23 NAIA National qualifiers, and 11 NAIA All-Americans in the sprint and jump events.

His coaching journey began at his junior college alma mater, Cuesta Community College, where he coached a California Community College Athletic Association State Champion and had two state qualifiers and two conference champions (pole vault).

As a student-athlete himself, Manuele competed at Cuesta College, Boise State and Arizona State in the sprints, jumps and relays. He was a top-10 pole vaulter in the state at Cuesta College, left Boise State as the third-best vaulter in Broncos history, and twice scored at the Pac-12 Conference Championship meet while finishing his career among the top-10 all-time pole vaulters at ASU.

Manuele owns a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotions from California University of Pennsylvania. He graduated from Arizona State with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Communications, History and Music. Manuele holds certifications with the USATF (Level 1), NASE (Level 2 Speed Specialist), and USTFCCCA (Strength and Conditioning).
