Laura Huarte completed her sixth season as an assistant track & field coach at the University of San Francisco in the spring of 2016.

Huarte coached the jumpers, sprinters, and javelin throwers for the Dons.  She also played a key role in the entire team success culminating seven school records in her event areas and in the program’s record number of NCAA qualifiers in 2014.  She is USATF Level I and Level II (Jumps) Certified.  She also handled the administrative duties of travel, equipment, and community service.

Huarte graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2006 with a degree in business administration - marketing. While at Notre Dame, she was a member of the track and field team where she specialized in both the pole vault and the javelin. 

The Fighting Irish were the Big East conference champions in 2006, while Huarte qualified for the Division I NCAA Track and Field All-Mideast Region meet, still holding the school's female javelin record. Also was the Big East’s pole vault champion in 2004. 

Laura and her husband, Brian, have one son, Patrick, and they currently reside in Novato, Calif.
