CAREER HIGHLIGHTS AT SAN FRANCISCO:
  • During the 2023 cross country season, Fuelling helped guide the Dons as the most improved team in the West Region, moving up 10 spots from 2022 to the 2023 season.
  • Coached Jacob Cann and Ed Buck to a All-WCC First Team sections following the West Coast Conference Championships. Cann also earned USTFCCCA All-Region by placing 16th at the NCAA West Regional.
  • In 2024, Fuelling elevated the men's program, coaching Buck and Cann to the NCAA West Preliminary Round, the first San Francisco runners from the men's side to compete in five years. Guided Cann to a program record in the 1,500 meters and Buck to his first sub-29 minute 10,000 meters, third all-time in the program.
  • During Fuelling's first season on the Hilltop, both programs were able to compete at the highest level with participants in both the Cross Country National Championships, and the Outdoor Track and Field West Regional. 
  • Coming to the Hilltop in August 2021, Fuelling was named to the coaching staff in after spending three seasons as the Head Cross Country/Assistant Track & Field Coach at Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
OTHER CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
  • At Academy of Art, Fuelling was a part of four top-20 NCAA finishes, coached three PacWest runner-up finishes and was named USTFCCCA West Region Assistant Coach of the Year in 2020 and 2021.
  • Overall, he has coached 11 All-Americans, including the Division II NCAA mile and 1500m champion, James Young (Blyth, England). Impressively, Young would go on to make the 1500m final at the prestigious British Championships.
  • Prior to the Academy of Art, Fuelling served as an assistant coach at Boise State. During his time with the Broncos, the women's cross country team would earn its best NCAA finish (sixth place) in program history. Notably, the Boise State men's cross country team also won their first Mountain West conference title and placed in the top 20 at the 2016 & 2017 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
  • Fuelling gained Division I coaching experience at Temple University and the University of Illinois.
PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS
  • At Grand Valley State, Fuelling was a member of the cross country and track & field teams, where he was a two-time All-American.
OTHER NOTABLES:
  • Fuelling earned his bachelor's degree in Physical Education in 2013 from Grand Valley State University and his master's degree in Athletic Leadership from Boise State in 2018.
