2015-16 (Redshirt Senior)
Fall 2015: Turned in a dominating 9-2 record for the fall, going 7-2 in singles and 2-0 in doubles play...Reeled off four straight singles wins to start the season, including a 5-7, 7-6(3), 6-4 win over Laura Gulbe (Pepperdine) to take home the singles title at the Battle in the Bay Classic...Won three straight matches at the ITA Northwest Regionals to reach the quarterfinal round before falling to Stanford’s Caroline Doyle...Paired up with Thyra Taune to win the doubles title at the Battle in the Bay Classic, defeating Pepperdine’s Laura Gulbe and Dzina Milovanovic 8-7(6).Â
Spring 2016: One of the greatest tennis players in program history, Ka ended her time at the Hilltop with a stellar 12-2 record as the No. 1 player for the Dons...Ended the season ranked 108 in the nation...For the fourth consecutive year, and only the second player in USF history, was named to First Team All-West Coast Conference honors as a singles player...She completed a 5-1 mark in conference action and including the Fall schedule, ended the year, 19-4, in singles competition...Finished the spring season with seven straight wins...Defeated Mayci Jones of BYU in a three set contest- 6-4, 3-6, 6-3...Paired with Taune, Ka was also named to Second Team All-WCC honors for doubles...They went 10-4 in doubles action on court No. 1...Compiled a 4-2 doubles record in WCC matches...Won seven straight doubles matches with Taune from Jan. to Apr.
2014-15 (Redshirt Junior)
Fall 2014: Ranked 49th by the ITA in January of 2015. Singles: Earned a dominating winning record of 10-1…Defeated #53 Sophie Watts of Fresno State in two short sets, 6-2, 6-0…Finished the season with an eight match winning streak...Doubles: Worked with Nikolic to finish the slate with a 6-2 record…Advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2014 USTA/ITA Division I Women’s Northwest Regional Championship...Competed for Singapore in the Asian Games in September 2014.
Spring 2015: Singles: Named to the Singles All-WCC First Team for the third straight year...In her first match of the season, defeated No. 51 Alina Soltanici of Sacramento State…Compiled a winning streak high of six matches including a two-set win against, No. 97 Danielle Flores of Saint Mary’s College...Doubles: Ka and Nikolic were named to the Doubles All-WCC First Team for the second time...With Nikolic, finished the season with a 15-11 overall record and 6-4 in WCC competition…Ranked No. 57 in March…Picked up a three match-winning streak against doubles teams from Sacramento State and San Jose.
2013-14 (Redshirt Sophomore)
Fall 2013: Began pre-season ranked #57 in the ITA Tennis rankings. Singles: Clinched a win against #123 Gabriella DeSimone of #9 USC at the Cal Nike Fall Invitational to advance to the quarterfinals...Doubles: Advanced to the Saint Mary’s Invitational semifinals with partner Thyra Taune, beating pairs from UC Davis and #41 Washington.Â
Spring 2014: Named to the Singles All-WCC First Team for the second straight year...Was named to the 2014 All-WCC Preseason Team…Nabbed WCC singles player of the week on April 16...Concluded the season ranked No. 104 in the nation according to ITA...Singles: Strung eight straight wins together in the middle of her season, including victories against Santa Clara, #63 BYU, and Loyola Marymount...Late in the season, Ka netted six wins in a row, including a win against #54 Laura Antonana of San Diego State University...Doubles: Named Doubles First Team All-WCC along with Nikolic...Ended the season with a winning streak of 14 matches including wins against #63 BYU, #24 Pepperdine and #47 Saint Mary’s.
2012-13 (Redshirt Freshman)
Fall 2012: Went 4-2 in singles play during the fall, picking up two wins at the ITA Northwest Regional, including one over No. 88 Catherine Isip of Saint Mary’s...Lost all three of her fall doubles matches, playing twice with Hashiguchi and once with Holmberg.
Spring 2013: Named to the Singles All-WCC First Team during her first season on the Hilltop...Honored as the WCC Freshman of the Year...Played from the No. 1 position all spring, finishing with a dual match record of 18-5, winning six matches in a row from Feb. 9 to March 9...Took down two ranked opponents, including a victory over No. 56 Aishwarya Agrawal of Fresno State...Played No. 1 doubles with Holmberg throughout the season...Ka and Holmberg won four matches in a row at one point, with their best doubles win of the season coming in an 8-6 victory of the 22nd-ranked pair from Tulsa.
