2017-2018 (SENIOR): Appeared in eight tournaments, playing in 21 rounds in his senior campaign...named to the West Coast Conference Honorable Mention Team...finished the regular season with a 74.3 stroke average, second best of his career...Finished with one top-10 finish on the year...at the Golf Week Conference Challenge he finished 35th with a 6-over 222 (75-74-73)...had his best tournament of the season at the West Coast Conference Championships where he finished tied for ninth with a 1-under 215 (74-71-70)...the ninth place finish at the WCC Championships was a career-best in the tournament...in his final tournament in the Green and Gold he tied for 57th at the NCAA Bryan Regional at the Traditions Club, finishing 11-over 227 (76-73-78). 

2016-2017 (JUNIOR): Played in eight of the team’s nine events, missing only the Alister Mackenzie Invitational…finished with a stroke average of 75.3…best finish was a tie for 39th at the WCC Championships…opened the year at the Olympic Invitational where he finished 41st with a 12-over par score of 225 (77-73-75)…finished 13-over and tied for 44th at the Saint Mary’s Invitational at Poppy Hills (81-73-72)…low tournament of the year came at the Princeville Invitational, where he finished 8-over 224 (79-72-73)…tied for 75th at the Arizona National Invitational at 228 (+12) on rounds of 73-78-77…tied for 66th at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational at 11-over 224 (72-75-77)…finished 20-over 230 at The Goodwin (78-77-75)…tied for 50th at the PING Cougar Classic at 9-over 225 (73-78-74)…concluded the season at the WCC Championships where he tied for 39th place at 227 (+11) on rounds of 75-77-75.

2015-2016 (SOPHOMORE):  Played in nine of 10 events and finished with a stroke average of 74.0 which was the third-lowest mark on the team…best finish was a tie for 28th at the  Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational…opened the year at the Saint Mary’s Invitational where he tied for 55th with a 15-over score of 228 (77-78-73)…tied for 29th at the Wyoming Southern Dunes Invitational with an 11-over score of 227 (75-75-77)…enjoyed his best tournament of the year at the Alister Mackenzie Invitational where posted a 4-under score of 209 (69-67-73) to tie for 30th…wrapped up the fall with a tie for 28th at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational where he shot an even-par 216 (73-74-69)…opened the spring at the LMU Invitational where he tied for 62nd at Reflection Bay after rounds of 77-81-77 left him with a 6-over score of 235…was in the lineup at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate but had to withdraw from the second round due to injury…tied for 50th at The Goodwin with a 7-over score of 217 following rounds of 74-70-73 at Stanford Golf Course…tied for 52nd at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic and tied for 35th at the WCC Championships.

2014-2015 (FRESHMAN): Team qualified for 10 of 11 events as a freshman…posted a stroke average of 74.60, third-lowest on the team behind Seb Crookall-Nixon and Jobim Carlos…enjoyed three top-20 finishes on the year…made his collegiate debut at the Gopher Invitational where he tied for 49th at 233 (+20) following rounds of 83-76-74…was in the second spot again for the Saint Mary’s Invitational in Seaside where he tied for 35th at 224 (+8) on rounds of 76-74-74…enjoyed his first top-10 finish at the Wyoming Southern Dunes in Maricopa, AZ….finished 1-over 217 for the tournament after rounds of 70-78-69…tied for 44th at the Alister Mackenzie invitational after rounds of 71-73-76 left him 7-over 220 for the tournament…closed the fall at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational where he tied for 79th at 229 (+13) on rounds of 78-75-76…started the spring season on a promising note with a 14th place finish at the Barona Collegiate Cup (73-72-68-213)…tied for 115th at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate (237; +21)…tied for 70th at The Goodwin following rounds of 72-74-70 at Stanford Golf Course left him 6-over 216 for the tournament…finished even par 216 at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic (70-73-73)…wrapped up the year at the WCC Championships, where he tied for 16th at 233 (78-73-82).

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Wissahickon Senior High School in Ambler, PA….played for head coach John Shapcott…three-time state championship competitor (2010-13)…two-time first team Suburban One League American Conference All-League selection (2011-12)…selected as the Times Herald Player of the Year for golf as a sophomore and senior…Suburban One League low handicap index holder…medalist at the Suburban One American Conference Championships as a senior…helped the Trojans to the 2014 conference championship…selected to the 2012 AJGA HP Scholastic Honor Roll…three-time Wissahickon High School Spotlight honoree…received Honorable Mention for the USGA-AJGA President’s Leadership Award in 2013 after raising $5,300 for the CURE Epilepsy charity.
 
AMATEUR CAREER: Won the 2014 Montgomery County State Championship (71-72-143)…finished first out of 72 players at the 2013 U.S. Junior Qualifier (73-70-143)…solid 11th place finish at the 2013 AJGA Philadelphia Junior Championships (79-69-74)…finished second at the 2012 AJGA Killington Golf Championships (69-72-75)…placed fifth at the 2012 Pennsylvania State Championships.
 
PERSONAL: Full name is Jalen Hwang Griffin…parents are Edward Griffin and Lisa Hwang…plays out of the Talamore Country Club in his hometown of Ambler, Pa….lists the Blue Bell Golf Club in Pennsylvania as his favorite course…lists the Pebble Beach Golf Links as the course he’d most like to play…dream foursome consists of his father, Jason Dufner and Bubba.
