Katrina Hegge Finishes 10th Overall; Tinna
Johannsdottir 14th
(Aurora, OR) – USF women's golf shot a 305 in the final
round of the 2010 Rose City Collegaite and posted a seventh place
finish in the 54-hole tournament co-hosted by Oregon State and
Portland State Tuesday at the Langdon Farms Golf Course. Senior
Tinna Johannsdottir led the Dons with an even-par 72 on the course
playing at 6,080 yards.
Sophomore Katrina Hegge was the top finisher for San Francisco in
a share of 10th place at 223 (77, 73, 73), while Johannsdottir
claimed a tie for 14th at 225 (72, 81, 72). The Iceland native was
the only Don to register a round of par or better in the event,
doing so twice in the opening and final round.
Hegge finished the tournament ranked among the top-10 in event
leaders in par-3 (3.08) and par-4 scoring (4.17) and pars (38).
North Texas won the event at 889 (295, 303, 291), three shots in
front of the Beavers at 892 (302, 296, 294). The Vikings were third
on their home course at 897 (299, 300, 298) followed by Northern
Arizona at 905 (309, 301, 295). Hawaii rounded out the top-five at
908 (307, 295, 306).
USF returns to action when it competes in the 2010 Edean
Ihlanfeldt Invitational beginning Monday, October 4 at Tacoma Golf
and Country Club.
