(South Bend, IN) – Junior Ji Hwan Park and sophomore Tayor Travis shared medalist honors and led the USF men's golf team to a third place finish at the 2010 Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic Tuesday on the Warren Golf Course. Park and Travis led the charge finishing the 54-hole event at 2-under 208 on the par-70 course playing at 7,023 yards.

Park (69, 71, 68) entered Tuesday's final round at even-par and shot a 2-under 68. A two-time medalist for the Dons, Park carded three of his four birdies on the day over the final six holes. Park won the 2008 Rice Invitational, firing a 6-under 210 during his freshman campaign in the Green and Gold.

Travis owned a share of the lead going into the final 18 holes and fired a 1-under 69 for a share of the tournament hardware in just his second collegiate event. The UCLA transfer tallied three birdies on Tuesday. USF has now had at least one medalist in each of the last three seasons.

Freshmen James Back (76, 73, 73) and Alika Bell (73, 76, 73) enjoyed solid second career tournaments for the Dons and finished in a share of 31st place at 222.  Back finished with three birdies, while Bell carded four on Tuesday.

Boosted by strong play from the co-leaders, San Francisco mounted a charge on tournament host and eventual runner-up Notre Dame. The Dons entered the final round trailing the Irish by 10 strokes, but erased nine shots with a 283 – the lowest by any team in the 14-team field on Tuesday.

Iowa won the team title at 853 (289, 278, 286), six shots in front of Notre Dame at 859 (281, 286, 292). The Dons placed third at 860 (286, 291, 283), while Houston (292, 292, 287) and Lamar (295, 286, 290) shared fourth place at 871.
