(San Jose del Cabo, Mexico) – San Francisco men's golf shot its lowest round of the event with an even-par 284 and posted a fourth place showing at the 2011 Cabo Collegiate hosted by Arkansas and Santa Clara at the Club Compestre Golf Course. USF concludes its 2011 Fall Season with its third consecutive top-five finish.
Senior Ji Hwan Park paced the Dons with a share of fifth place at two-under 211 (68, 70, 73), while junior Taylor Travis finished in a share of eighth place at one-under 212 (71, 71, 70) on the par-71 course playing at 6,966 yards.
Tournament co-host Arkansas won the event at 21-under 831 (281, 276, 274), while Southern Louisiana was a distant second at five-over 857 (293, 282, 282), six shots in front of Saint Mary's (292, 289, 278) at 859. The Dons finished six strokes back of the West Coast Conference rival Gaels at 865 (295, 286, 284). Tennessee rounded out the top-five teams in the field at 569 (295, 288, 286).
USF posted wins against WCC opponents Santa Clara (8th/889) and Gonzaga (11th/910).
San Francisco returns to action when it opens up the spring season February 1 at the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawaii.
