(Kona, HI) – USF men's golf completed its first event of the spring season with a 14th place finish at the 21st Annual Amer Ari Invitational. The Dons shot a 1-over 289 and remain and moved up one spot on the leader board after 54 holes on the challenging Waikoloa Kings Course in Kona.

Junior Ji Hwan Park was the top finisher for the Dons in a share of 14th place at 6-under 210 (72, 66, 72). Park posted a monster round two, firing a career-low round of 6-under 66 on the par-72 course playing at 7,074 yards. After turning in a bogey free second round, Park shared the team lead in birdies (14) and was best on the team with 46 holes at par or better.

Sophomore Taylor Travis posted a top-50 finish in an elite field, finishing in a share of 41st place with USF's lowest final round at 2-under 70 for an even-par event (72, 74, 70). Travis shared the team lead in birdies (14) and carded five in Friday's final round.

No. 4 Oklahoma State won a stacked event with a sizzling 34-under 830 (278, 273, 279), good for a five shot win against No. 7 Texas at 835 (282, 278, 275). No. 2 UCLA finished a stroke behind the Longhorns for third with a 836 (285, 273, 278), eight shots in front of No. 5 Georgia Tech in fourth place at 20-under 278 (278, 282, 284). No. 24 Southern California rounded out the top-five teams in the event at 19-under 845 (271, 292, 282).

Oregon's Daniel Miernicki (62, 69, 72), UCLA's Patrick Cantlay (74, 64, 65) and Bobby Hudson (69, 67, 67) of Texas shared medalist honors at a whopping 13-under 203.

USF returns to action when it hosts the 2011 Triumph at Pauma Valley, beginning Monday, March 14. The 54-hole event in its fourth year will take place in Southern California at the Pauma Valley Country Club.
