SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco men's and women's track and field teams continued to excel in the classroom during the 2011 season. Both programs earned All-Academic status from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

In order to receive All-Academic status, team must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
The Dons' men's team was one of only 90 Division I men's track and field programs to earn All-Academic status after turning in a team GPA of 3.38. That GPA figure put USF in the top eight percent of all teams to earn the All-Academic status.

USF's women's team finished the season with a team GPA of 3.39 and was one of the 164 Division I women's track and field programs to earn the All-Academic status.
"This university and our program are committed to excellence not only in athletics, but in the classroom as well," USF coach Helen Lehman-Winters said.
