Dons Take on UNLV and Fresno State Saturday

(Las Vegas) – San Francisco volleyball opened up play in the 2011 UNLV Classic with a 25-19, 25-22, 25-17 setback to Baylor Friday afternoon at Cox Pavilion. The Dons (6-5) could not generate any consistent offense against the Bears (9-3).

Freshman middle blocker Valentina Zaloznik and junior outside hitter Alycia Cox led the Dons with eight kills apiece. San Francisco hit at an anemic .062 clip for the match and committed 20 attack errors.

Baylor hit at a .275 clip for the contest and recorded 20 blocks. Adri Nora tallied a match-high 16 kills on .542 hitting to pace Baylor.

San Francisco returns to action Saturday when it takes on tournament host UNLV at 11:30 AM. The Dons wrap up play in the desert against Fresno State. First serve against the Bulldogs is set for 5:00 PM from Cox Pavilion.
