MADISON, Wis. – Competing in their most challenging non-championship meet of the season, the No. 20 San Francisco women's cross country team placed 20th in the 49-team 6-kilometer race on Friday afternoon at Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
Elena Burkard continued her standout freshman season, leading the Dons with a 52nd place finish. Burkard, who helped then-No. 23 San Francisco to a second place finish in the Toledo Bubble Buster on Sept. 21, paced the Dons with a time of 20:29. The Dons again bested their WCC foe BYU (24th place).
Eva Krchova, who earned her second consecutive Track & Field All-America Honorable Mention selection last year, finished second on the Dons' squad and in 81st place overall (20:43).
Senior Chloe Treleven ranked third for USF (20:54), while Alice Baker finished five seconds behind her teammate (20:59). Baker shaved an impressive 43 seconds off her previous season best 6k time, which came at the Stanford Invitational two weeks ago.

The Dons finished with 531 points, as No. 5 Iowa State took home first place honors with 109 points. Cal Poly freshman Laura Hollander blistered her way to first place overall finish with a time of 19:33.
