(San Diego, CA) – San Francisco men's golf leads the 2012 Triumph at Pauma Valley after a strong 36 holes at the Pauma Valley Country Club. The Dons own a commanding 21-shot lead against Bowling Green and have their sights set on capturing the Triumph title for the first time in six outings as the tournament host.
 
Sophomore James Back leads the field at one-under 141 (68, 73) while junior Taylor Travis (73, 72) and freshman Jobim Carlos (72, 73) share second place at three-over 145. Defending medalist senior Ji Hwan Park sits in a share of fourth place in the 11-team field at six-over 147 (70, 77).
 
Back led the way with 10 birdies, seven coming in the opening round when he fired a three-under 68. Carlos added six birdies and carded an eagle on the par-5 No. 17 in the opening round. Park also turned in an eagle in the first round on the par-5 No. 11.
 
Bowling Green shot 596 (300, 296), followed closely by defending tournament team champion Central Arkansas at 601 (309, 292).
 
San Francisco opens play in the final round of the event Tuesday. The field will go off with a shotgun start set for 8:30 AM.
