Men's Tennis Set To Open WCC Championship Against LMU

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The University of San Francisco men's tennis team has earned a eight seed into the 2012 West Coast Conference Tennis Championships, presented by the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, as announced Sunday. The Tournament is schedule to take place at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego and will begin Wednesday, April 25 at 9:30 am.

After competing in the first ever round robin schedule in WCC history, San Francisco finished the regular season with a 4-16 overall, 2-6 conference record to garner the No. 8 seed.

The Dons will face fifth seeded Loyola Marymount in the first round Wednesday. LMU finished the regular season with a 10-13 overall record, 3-4 against conference foes.

San Francisco and Loyola Marymount met once during the 2012 dual season, with LMU taking a close 4-3 victory at the LMU Tennis Center in Los Angeles.

The winner of the Dons/Lions match will face the winner of the No. 4 Brigham Young, No. 9 Gonzaga match on Thursday morning.
