STANFORD INVITATIONAL – DAY TWO RECAP
San Francisco freshman Sean Gomes set a school record in the 800 to highlight a solid showing in day two of the 2012 Stanford Invitational at Cobb Track and Angell Field. Gomes turned in a time of 1:52.69, good for a 31st place finish among a strong field, eclipsing the previous mark of 1:52.96 set by Devin Hopkins last season.
Freshman Hillary Harris finished 34th in the women's 800 in 2:11.62, followed closely by senior Nicole Bowler in 39th, who recorded her second personal record in as many days at Stanford with a time of 2:11.96. Bowler set a PR in the 1500 on Friday.
"We finally had some nice weather conducive to good track and field performances this weekend," USF head coach
Helen Lehman-Winters said. "We had 14 personal bests and three new school records and we are now ready to roll into the month of heavy competition in April. Bowler posted two personal bests and continues to close very well; Romo was solid in his first steeple in competition; and Marquardt also ran strong at 5000. I am especially pleased with how our freshmen (Lonon, Parker, Harris and Gomes) competed and handled their respective events this weekend."
CHABOT RELAYS RESULTS
CHABOT RELAYS - RECAP

Lonon won the open event by more than four meters.
Junior Alexander Fowler won the open long jump with a top collegiate finish and personal record leap of 6.92 meters, breaking his previous best of 6.80 meters set at the Cal All-Comers Meet. Freshman Norwood Nile won the open triple jump with a new personal record of 13.74 meters, bettering his mark of 13.73. Norwood also posted a fifth-place finish in the long jump at 6.34 meters.
