Dons Look to Gain Momentum Heading into 2012 WCC Championships

(San Francisco) – San Francisco men's golf competes in its final tuen-up prior to opening defense of its West Coast Conference Championship when it competes in the 2012 Braveheart Classic, beginning Monday, April 9 at the Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont. The Dons look to gain momentum against a solid 10-team field competing on the par-72 course playing at 7,003 yards.

THE FIELD: Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Sacramento State, San Francisco, La Verne, Redlands, Cal Lutheran, Utah Valley, Alabama State, and the host Highlanders.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: On Monday, players will begin with an 8:00 AM shotgun where they will play 36 holes, and on Tuesday, they will conclude the tournament with an 18 hole round also starting at 8:00 AM.

DONS IN THE RANKINGS: San Francisco enters its final regular season tournament ranked No. 56 in the current Golfweek.com rankings and No. 70 in GolfStat. Junior Taylor Travis is ranked No. 147 on the individual rankings, while senior Ji Hwan Park is No. 182.

LAST TIME AT THE BRAVEHEART: USF shared 10th place last season at the Braveheart Classic. The Dons were led by a seventh place finish by Alika Bell. San Francisco recovered to win its second West Coast Conference Championship in three seasons at the San Juan Oaks Golf Course in its next outing.
