(Des Moines, IA) – Senior Nicole Bowler and junior Sophie Curl ended their 2012 season Thursday evening in the women's 1500 at the NCAA Track & Field Nationals at Drake Stadium. Curl made program history with a school record of 4:18.34, finishing ninth in heat one of her first appearance at nationals.

Curl eclipsed the 1500 school mark set by All-American Eva Krchova last season at 4:20.43. Curl's previous personal record was 4:21.68 set in the semifinals of the 2012 NCAA Track & Field West Preliminaries in Austin, Texas.

Bowler finished 11th in heat one with a time of 4:26.98 in the final race of her distinguished career for the Green and Gold. A three-time NCAA Preliminary qualifier for the Dons, Bowler held three school records during the course of the 2012 season.
