SAN FRANCISCO – The University of San Francisco women's tennis team suffered its worst loss of the season Monday afternoon at Golden Gate Park, falling to the No. 24 Tulsa Golden Hurricane by a score of 6-0.

The No. 1 doubles tandem of Andrea Ka / Sofia Holmberg posted a solid win over Tulsa's No. 22-ranked duo of Samantha Vickers / Isaura Enrique, but the Dons were unable to pull out either of the remaining doubles matches and lost the point.

Freshman Andrea Ka, USF's lone nationally ranked player, nearly upset No. 31 Samantha Vickers, falling in three sets to the Golden Hurricane's top singles player.

Andrea Ka, Marina Nikolic and Sofia Holmberg competed well in singles,” said USF coach Hilary Somers. “Now we're gearing up for three matches in a row later this week, including a conference match against BYU.”

The Dons (6-5, 0-2 WCC) face a quick turnaround, with a WCC contest against BYU sandwiched between matches against Montana State and Montana on three consecutive days. USF opens the three-match stretch on Thursday, March 21 at 1 p.m. at Golden Gate Park.
